Loren Kennedy Traineeship

The Loren Kennedy Endowment Fund was established as a bequest from the estate of Loren W. Kennedy of Parsons, KS. The majority of the income of the fund is used for arts administration traineeships in the Department of Theatre.

Students are selected on the basis of the student’s overall achievements in the Department of Theatre and on the student’s interest in serving in an administrative capacity. Students who have served as a Loren Kennedy Trainee in the past are eligible for renewal, but must apply each year.

The goal of the traineeship is to provide each recipient the opportunity to train in administrative areas of theatre. It also provides staff assistance with administrative tasks and special projects throughout the academic year. The Trainee serves as an ambassador to the program and as a leader to other theatre students.

Eligible students must apply by March 1 for consideration. Trainees are chosen by the Managing Director of Theatre and the Chair of the Department of Theatre.
