Blair Lawrence Yates is an international MA student and GTA in The Department of Theatre. Blair is in his second year of MA studies and is the assistant director of The Interactive Theatre Troupe (ITT). His main focus is in Theatre Directing and he will be directing a production of R.U.R as part of the University Season.

Hailing from England, Blair graduated from the University of Kent with a focus on directing. His directing credits include Aristophanes’ The Wasps (2013) at The Marlowe Studio Theatre in Kent and his own play The Human Exhibit, which made its début in The Lumley Studio at Kent (2015).

Blair has also worked as an actor and playwright in the past, having recently had work published in New York. He has acted in a variety of different plays from Greek comedy’s such as Thesmophoriazusae to contemporary dramas such as One Minute. His KU University Theatre credits include Servant – Dracula (2013), Dogberry – Much Ado About Nothing (2014), Ensemble - The Other Shore (2014), Dr Rank – A Doll’s House (2015) and assistant director of Little Women (2016).
